I still like to go wander through the wood, though not as mobile as I once was, I find the potential and the newness of spring rejuvenating some how.

Each image is a small collection of thought processes within a life time of experiential learning.

This is a demo for a workshop.
It is water colour on gessoed panel.
The sedimentary effect which occurs on this surface as opposed to the absorptive effect occurring in the water colour paper helps
create the image almost accidentally.

Upon cutting a tile, an abstract idea appears.

My whole life has been a visual adventure, where in the surroundings and activities in which I find myself invariably present my being with interesting forms and contrasts. The juxtaposition of the every day objects, implements, people, places, and situations lead to an internal dialogue if only for a few fleeting moments.
In this group of slides below, an example of how one pragmatic activity gives way to a meandering of thoughts which lead from one idea to the next. Each image has its own place and time one leading thru to the other. Missing are the sounds, the temperature, the smells, and the physical pain while holding position to safely use the power tool to cut through the ceramic tile. There is a very detailed analysis of the space time continuum aligned with the narrative of how the elements recorded here, came to be so, leading on to the composition sketched out in pen and ink. A decision to complete a large abstract painting based on these iPhone sketches is yet to be made.  Food for thought though...
